Wales and Olympic windsurfing

Today was the first day of the Funsport Event here in Rhossy. Conditions were classic contest conditions, with small waves, pretty light winds, side shore riding only. I made it through to the final, but it was cancelled half way through, which was a shame as I had had some good waves considering the conditions. Still it looks really good for wind on Sunday so we should get it finished then, and possibly a double elimination if we have time. In the meantime, if you haven't heard, they have ruled to replace windsurfing in the Olympics for Kite Surfing. I have nothing against kiting, but to lose windsurfing in the Olympics would have huge consequences. Much of our grass roots level windsurfing, particularly for kids, is funded by money for Olympic development, its loss would have a huge impact on our sport.
